Educational culture shocks

Most people moving to a different country experience feelings that can range from excitements and interests to depression, frustration and irritation or even anger and aggression. The stress that is caused by this emotions has come to be known as culture shock.
There are numerous unique cultures in the world today, people act differently because of cultural differences and up bringing.I left my country for another, because i wanted to get the best of education, and view things from a different and better perspective, also i wanted to be independent.
I will say that being a student in university of Essex has given me the opportunity to interact with people from different cultures and ethnic groups thereby giving me a versatile knowledge about other cultures.
The educational system in my country, is far different from the one present in this country. In Nigeria, it is theoretically based unlike here, where lots of practicals and experiments are performed which tends to enhance a better understanding of what is being taught .Also, the environment here is so conducive for learning unlike in Nigerian universities where you have over populated lecture rooms.
When i came into this country,i was very scared of everything being new and unfamiliar to me,especially how i would be able to locate my lecture rooms, but the problem was made easy when the university gave me a map with the descriptions and locations of places in the school. Also, i did not find learning difficult because English is my first language.
