Educational Culture Shock
Most people moving to a different country experience feelings that can range from excitement and interest to depression, frustration and irritation or even anger and aggression. The stress that is caused by these emotions has come to be known as culture shock.
I decided to leave my country to another to school because i wanted to be independent and see things in a different perspective, also i wanted to get the best of education.Since i came into this country, i have noticed that people act differently because we all came from different cultural backgrounds and we all have a different up bringing also.I will say am opportune  to be in university of Essex because i have met several people from different cultural backgrounds and have learnt alot about other cultures all over the world.
The educational system in my country is so different from the one here,in Nigeria, education is mainly based on the theoretical aspect only, but here it is balanced with lots of practicals and experiments which is more ideal thereby enhancing a better understanding of what is being taught, also the use of power points and other sophisticated equipments to lecture is amazing, and is absent in my country.
When i came into this country, i was scared of everything being new and unfamiliar to me  to me especially how to locate my lecture rooms but it was made so easy for me because i was given a map which had descriptions of places in the university, also i found learning easy because English is my first language compared to other students that did not have English as their first language.
